Data Copy for QuickBooks Online
This unique functionality was initially launched for Xero and now has been extended to QuickBooks online.
A data copy is useful for:
Peace of mind - Your company or client want to store a copy of the data offline.
Cancel Subscription - Get a copy of all data when you terminate the subscription with Xero or QuickBooks Online.
Closing off a client - Get all the client data out of Xero or QuickBooks Online including attachments for clients.
Data Retention Policy - Some companies require an offline copy as part of their data retention policy.
Transactions for a year - Choose to download a data copy of all transactions for any required period.
Attachments - Get a copy of all attachments within the Xero organisation or QuickBooks Online company (inc receipts entered through OCR tools such as Hubdoc).
New reporting templates
A set of reports initially only available for Xero have now been extended to work with QuickBooks Online as well. These are sample reports which serve as a good base for building custom reports for your practice or business.
New Post and Edit Template
A new template for QuickBooks Online is available in the Templates Library - this will allow easier creation and editing of employees in your QuickBooks Online company.
Xero Repeating Invoices
The data table for Xero repeating Invoices has been improved to also include any lines in the repeating invoice. Previously only the header and first line of the data table was generated.
With this enhancement, repeating invoices can be used for a number of other reports.
Data Copy and VAT module
Both the Data Copy and the VAT module have been very successful over the last few months. When these were triggered by a user, the email notifications where being sent to the account owner and very often this is not the intended behaviour.
We have therefore improved this process and any email notifications will now be sent to the user who triggered the request instead of the account owner.
QuickBooks Online General Ledger - now available for groups
A number of improvements have been included to enhance the reporting for this report including the ability to be used for a DataDear group. Improvements are:
Show the Organisation name (for a single company or a group) in the columns when selecting the Show Organisation Name option.
The General Ledger file has been linked with the accounts data table. For each Account, additional columns (Classification, Account Type and Accounts Sub Type) will be added to the General Ledger as separate columns. You need to select a separate checkbox ‘Get Additional Details’ to get the extra columns.
Another column in front of Amount column will show the currency of the group or of the organisation. The amount and balance columns are also converted into the DataDear group default currency for multi-currency groups.
QuickBooks Online - Some tax calculations related to creation of multiple lines for QuickBooks Online were giving an error - this has been resolved for the Invoices and Bills template.
Xero - Using the AU timesheet template as giving an error when using specific date formats. This has now been fixed to use different date formats.
Hubspot - A date range filter was added to the parameters window for easier filtering of data.
Various bug fixes.
The upgrade will start on the 15th April 7.00am UTC (18.00 AEDT / 20.00 NZDT / 09.00 CEST / 9.00 SAST / 00.00 PDT) and will take around 1 hour during which DataDear will be unavailable. The add-in will update automatically once you open Excel after the release is completed.
