received an email from Xero below, what do i need to do?
As so many people are moving to remote online work, it’s crucial that the privacy of your API connections and the data within them are secure and up to date.
To meet with the relevant compliance rules of tax offices around the world, we are implementing new global security standards for all Xero app partners who connect to Xero APIs. This is best practice for your security and privacy.
As part of this work we’re upgrading the WorkflowMax API and we’re contacting you because you have either:
* An API connection between your Xero Practice Manager (XPM) account and one of our app partners
* You’ve got a key enabled which lets you integrate another application (which you may own) to your XPM account
Depending on how you use the API, you may need to complete a security self-assessment questionnaire by 30 June 2020. In order to pass the assessment, you need to upgrade your API connection to the latest version (v3).
We understand that upgrading the API by 30 June may be difficult due to potential changes in your working environment.
If you are not able to do the API work in this timeframe, you still need to fill in the security self-assessment by 30 June. After this we’ll get in contact to discuss an extension for the API upgrade.
To support you through this process, we’ve put together step-by-step instructions on what you need to do.
Please follow these instructions to make sure that your API connection is maintained.
If you’re not the right person to be looking after this upgrade, please forward this email to the business owner, or your developer or technical team.
If you have any questions please raise a case in Xero Central.
